POSB Run for Kids 2011

Managed to persuade a few friends to join this race... thus Dsii and Kelly joined their 1st race! :)

However, it's a very messy race to be their 1st race... guess it scared them abit!

This race is different from the other races. The kids were supposed to do their race alone. Thus parents needs to deposit them into a holding area and pick them up after the race. Due to lack of manpower or time, the organsier didnt tag the kids and parents! thus it was quite a messy stage when parents trying to claim their kids!

No matter what guess the kids still had fun and were proud tat they complete their race and get a medal!
I would still go for such races for kids for Zavier and Zayden in time to come :)

After the pirate ship project, it continue one with a "pirate family dinner". Tr Maria says initially Zavier wanted to draw all 7 pax in the drawing but later he got lazy! hahaha...

1st wk - draw the characters. 1st time focusing on drawing humans.

Went together with our "road trip" kakis! This is also Zayden's 1st show!!

The kids were thrill to see each other! Before the show, the kids were already very busy with each other chit chatting and playing iPhone!

The show starts and all the kids eyes were glued to the stage. I would say the 1st half of the show are pretty boring!!

2nd was much more fun and interactive! Even Zayden stood and dance for a gd 15mins during the ending!

After the show, we went to kallang macs for our supper before heading home! :)

Party - Zachery's 5th year old Party

Zavier's CC fren having a party at HRC Beach pool. Thus we all went for the party at our favourite place! :) Since we had been to this beach pool few times, Zayden didnt need any warming up when reached there!

The party were in 3 cabana with finger food and a fabulous cake! The kids had a blast and we were the last family to leave the party after having dinner there :)

Fun Climb @ The Rock School

It's public holiday! Thus we joined Kelly and gang to the fun climb @ The Rock School.

It's a group of 10kids with 4 instructors. They started with some simple warm up with the parachute. Then a "shark" game where the kids scrambled to climb up the wall as fast as possible.
Then officially start to teach the kids how to climb.. it's the indoor wall to start with and it's a semi-circle climb. Zavier had no issues with this wall at all.. he went 3-4times at a go

Then after that they proceeded out to the tall wall. After basic rules and how to handle the rope the kids set up the wall. Zavier started at the wrong wall - the most difficult red wall. He climbed up half way and give up... Then stood around and observed how other kids climb the walls. Very soon he regain his confidence and went up the blue wall... he was slow and steady and went straight up to the PEAK! Hooray! He was really proud of himself! Thereafter he went to the yellow wall and again went straight up to the Peak! He was really happy with his accomplishment! :)

Zayden didn't just sit around as well! He joined the kids as much as possible and even attempted to climb the wall! He is a natural Spiderman! :)

Overseas Hols Aug2011 - Day 3 Genting, Malaysia

This morning we decided to go to a noodles shop for breakfast and proved to be a great choice! Very yummy! :)

After that we went down to the Temple in the mid hill. It was a big temple with many things to see. We had a great walked ard the place. After that we went back to hotel to check out.
FIL & SIL went back via coach.

We went downhill to the strawberry farm first. The kids had fun picking their own strawberries! After that we set off back Singapore! :)

Overseas Hols Aug2011 - Day 2 Genting, Malaysia

Rise and Shine! We went to find our breakfast but made a wrong decision. We went to the buffet breakfast in the hotel and it was a BAD choice! The food was so so and it was a big mess and like feeding pigs! We still ate our fill and straight away went to the Outdoor Theme Park!

We went in and sat in every ride we could! Some of the more thrilling rides Zavier were not tall enough thus we couldn't go. But that didn't dampen his mood... he still went for all the rides that he is able to sit. Fast and slow ones and enjoyed it to heaps! :)

Zayden also sat in all the rides that he can go up too. He was not afraid and happily sat in it. With the great weather and not crowded place, we had a great time!

Finally at ard 4pm, we finally completed the outdoor theme park. We proceed back into the indoor theme park. Zayden couldn't take it anymore and fall asleep on the pram thus they went back to the room first. I played with Zavier for another hour before going back with MAC dinner!

Even Zavier was tired and took a nap on the bed while the adults went out for dinner. We went back at 9pm and found both kids energetic! Thus we decide to bring them down for another round of play since our day pass is still valid.

We played till 1130pm and finally proceed back to the room and knock out! :)

Overseas Hols Aug2011 - Day 1 Genting, Malaysia

Plan for a short trip before I start my new job. It's just a simple 3d2n trip to Genting. We managed to get a cheap deal of $3 per nite per room only. :) We also called FIL and SIL along for the trip.

We set off from Singapore at 8am, same timing as FIL & SIL via coach. We went all the way to Genting with only a short trip. Finally we reached at 2pm. We managed to get our rooms by 3pm and we immediately went down to have a early dinner as we were all famished!

We ate dinner, ate Durian etc before going back. Zavier had his 1st taste of playing Animal Kaiser! Of cos he was thrilled and were super obedient becos he wants to continue to have chance to play! :p
We all had a early nite as tomolo would be a long day! :)

National Day 2011 Celebration

Rise and Shine in MBS room!! We didn't book the buffet breakfast (regrets! haha) thus we drove out to MAC for breakfast then went back to MBS at 11am.

We went back to the room to laze around and waited for Kelly's family to come! Finally they came at noon thus we all proceed up to the pool while DT went to check out the room! Luckily we managed to get a sheltered cushion seats (that can comfortable lie down). The kids wasted no time in jumping into the pool... all 5 kids were playing at the kids pool comfortably. Kelly baked cakes and brought some food along thus the kids were nibbling them as lunch while playing!

After 2hrs, at about 2pm, Zayden had enough and asked to be changed. Then we even found a shady/windy area with beach chairs for him to nap! After awhile, Zavier also washed up and too slept at the beach chair! Kelly's kids didn't had any signs of tiredness!!! Super kids sia! :p

At about 5pm, the kids woke up and we went over to the sky park to walk around and look at the sights. After that, we changed again and went down to the pool again and watched the aerial display of the National Day parade! Sun sets and it's getting cold thus we changed again and found a good spot and waited for the fireworks!

Finally the fireworks! It was really a great great view and spot to watch it! If possible, I would love to come back again next year! :) (And yes, we stayed at the MBS Pool from 12noon to 9pm! haha!)

Staycation @ MBS

Finally managed to book a nite stay at MBS! We went straight to MBS after Zavier's Preschool performance.

Sad to say we booked the cheapest room thus it was only at 7th floor and worst of the worst was - There is NO BATHTUB! Both boys were very disappointed about it! However, the room is still consider spacious and comfy..

We waited for Joselyn and her 2 boys to come then went up to the pool! The 4 boys and DT played till crazy in the pool... after 2hrs of soaking, we washed up and went back to the room for dinner! Kevin and Shaun didn't want to leave the hotel after that thus we all went to Suntec to walk around. :)

After that we walked back to the hotel and the kids knock out! :)

Zavier's Pats Schoolhouse - National Day 2011 Performance

So fast it's been a year!! I remember Zavier's 1st performance in Pats was also National Day 2010!

Last year, he was at the last row as he was new and didn't had any time to practice the performance. This year, he is in the front row for both performance! Even the "shouting commander" for the Chinese performance! I am proud of him!! :)

Brillionaire Kids - Cake Pops

The kids had a very hands on session kneading and rolling the cakes. Parents had a nice time chit chatting.

1st Preschool Excursion - BearyFun Gym

Sooo soon, Zayden's preschool organised a excursion. It's a half day trip to BearyFun Gym.

We went back to school to take school bus with the kids/parents and teachers. Zayden was excited to sit on the bus and even more happy to see his teachers/friends singing his fav songs during the journey.

Once we reached the Gym, we were divided into 4 groups. Zayden had great fun climbing/jumping/crawling around the gym. Other kids only go thru the routine 3-4times, but he can redo it over and over again up to 6-7 times! :p

This gym workouts were great... not those easy ones that Zavier used to go. Highly recommended! :)

The Green Corridor Singapore

So where is the green corridor in Singapore? It's actually the railway track itself... It's trying to perverse the area from developing into another concrete jungle... to let the nature to stay as it is... It's probably the last chance anyone in Singapore can walked on railway freely!

Today is the last day it is open to the public... given that we are on the way home and the weather was great! we went to rail mall and access the railway from here. Zavier was excited to be walking ON a real railway.. Zayden also kept saying "train train...".

Well, it was a short 10mins walk but hope it would be always remembered that in Singapore, there used to be this green corridor.

Jurong Bird Park

This should be Zayden's 1st visit to Jurong Bird Park. Always no chance to get company pass thus grab this chance when there is 50% discount. :)

Zavier being a big boy now understands most if not all now. The shows, the exhibits, the names etc. It is a truly educational trip for him now. Zayden being the baby now... still blur blur. All he knows now are "Birds... Birds... Fly!" But well, he came out knowing a few more names like Owl/Penguin etc. :)

Overall we had a great time.. great weather too! Windy and shady! :)

Piano Party @ Tanglin CC

Tr Sophia organised a simple piano party for her students. A chance to go up on stage to perform. Thus all her 25kids + immediately family = a small crowd of 130 pax. A great chance for the kids to build their confidence and be proud of their piano achievements. :)

Zavier prepared 2 songs for this concert. We were only informed like 2wks prior thus the 2 songs that he is currently learning then ends up as the concert song. A great way in my opinion to showcase the kids' current ability. Zavier practiced them diligently when he knows that it would be his concert songs.

Once we reach, he was zoom off to the pianist area. He was the 2nd kid to play thus hardly have time to settle down and whiz... he was up on stage! :p He did fanastically... played well and full of confidence (he even did a "hands relax" move before he start! faintz :p) After the party, everyone stayed ard to enjoy the refreshments (potluck from the parents) and chit chat.

Tr Sophia says she will prepare a larger scale concert at a proper concert hall for year end. Let's look foward to it! :).

The Young Mozarts

This lovely Young Audience Series features Wolfie and Nanerl Mozart as they recall one incredible musical journey to perform for the Emperor. Audiences will enjoy best loved excerpts of the master's music, including overtures from Don Giovanni and The Magic Flute, and some of his most famous works such as Eine Kleine Nachtmusik,the Piano Concerto, the Violin Concerto and the Flute Concerto. Music and drama are weaved in an approximately 60 minute children's education and family concert that will mesmerise. This concert is recommended for audiences age five and up.

Mainly a violin concert... but still it's for kids, so why not.
Zavier was bored during the violin and flute solo.. but all eyes up during the piano solo. He was amazed that the boy can plays so fast.. thus teachable moments - told him must practice! ;p

Singapore's premier violinist Min Lee is the artistic director of The Asian Chamber Orchestra, and young soloists Jonathan Chua (pianist) Tiffany Tan (violin) and Nikolai Song (flute) take centrestage

The 700M Training Run for the children and their parents aims to foster bonding with the family as well as promote a healthy lifestyle for participants of all ages.

I thought this would be fun for Zavier thus enrolled and brought him there. However, sad to say, he seems bored during the activity and only excite him was the 700m training run! :p

Gathering with DEC 2009 Mummies

After so long, I finally had a chance to join the Dec 2009 mummies and babies for gathering. It was at Luwen's home and the main motive is for the mummies to have a chance to play MAHJONG!!

Although I am not so "cook" with them, I still have a great time there. The bbies were all very cute and play along fine! (only Piglet that cause some rift!)

We stayed there for 3hrs and the kids played for 3hrs! Zayden forgot his nap/his milk and forgot EVERYTHING! hahaha

Hope to have more gatherings before I start to get busy again! :)

Zayden's 3rd day of school

Last day that I can accompany him! Thus I let him walked into the class himself. Very soon, I heard him calling for me and those sob sounds... Tr carried him and look out of the window to calm him down.
This distracted him well...

Then tr guided him to work on the materials. He was ok but with occasional "mamee"...I peeked at him thru the window and saw him following the teacher very closely. Guess he is getting comfort being near to a teacher. He followed the general flow of the classes pretty well with occasional outburst.

Generally he did very well and I am so proud of him!! :) I love you very much Zayden! :)

Zayden's Trial - JG Playclub

Arranged for a trial at JG playclub at East Coast. His Dec's fren is also in the same class.

This is a new outlet. The classroom is rectangular shaped. As usual, it started with freeplay. Zayden played around with the blocks/animals on the floor... sprouting the names and sounds of the animals.

Then it was welcome song and intro of kids/teachers name. And the intro of the letter of the day - Q

Related to the Letter Q - the kids were intro to do a Queen Quilt and Quack Duck artwork!

Zayden was able to follow me to complete the artwork.

Following that is story telling time. Then some racing activity in the classroom.

Then it's snacks time and of cos my dearest was again the most guai during this time.. stuffing himself with the tidbits and kept asking for more!

Next is playground time and he was playing around freely. I had to catch him back to wash hands after the session. :)

Last section is music and movement. His 1st encounter with a guitar and was excited about it! :)

Zayden's 2nd day at School

Similar to yesterday, I accompany him during the Montessori Time (as this is usually the most messy period). Once it's time to keep the materials, I hide at one corner and observed him. Tr was able to catch his attention and able to settle him.

But halfway thru the story telling, he start crying for "ma-mi... ma-mi...". After awhile, I decided to go in and accompany him. He refused to sit down at his table tis time and insisted on playing with the materials. The principal came in today to help out thus she told me that it's alright that he likes to wander now as he is still exploring the area. He would still be listening to the tr while he is roaming.

Snacks time - he automatically goes to the table and sat down waiting for his snacks. Then I again disappeared from the class to let the trs handle him.

Staying outside the class, I can hear him asking for me... giving out his sob sounds. But nothing too hysteria thus I stayed outside and observed. The teacher allows him to play with the materials thus he settled down and got distracted. Very soon it was music time and he got really happy.

Good thing about this last session is that everyday, he would leave the class very happily! Thus I think it gave him a very good impression about the class. :)

Zayden's 1st day at School

I finally started Zayden on a weekly preschool. After going to a few schools to view, based on logistic issues, we finally settled on a preschool in TPY. For a start, I enrolled him to a 3days a week classes. It would be a 2hrs session.

Once we reach, he remembered the place from last Thurs trial. Waited for temp taking then sanitize his hands. Then he couldn't wait to cheong into the room. After putting his bag and water bottle, he starts to roam about... he remembers to take his mat to unroll on the floor then start to disturb other kids! haha
So I brought him to take some materials and guild him to work on them. Teachers also came to guide him

After 30mins, it's time to keep the toys and he remembered to keep the toys and roll the mat. He was very enthus about this. It's time to sing welcome song and read a book. Zayden was alright in sing songs time but for story telling time, he starts to look for me. Then I sat down with him.

After that is "table work" time. He loves it esp the drawing part! (of cos not suppose to draw, but to write). Then again starts to run around and disturb the other materials.

Snacks time - another best loved! He stuff himself silly with the biscuits and kept asking for more!

After snack, Sit down with tr again... and again he cannot focus and was roaming ard. Thus I sat down with him again.

Finally Music and movement time. His best activity. He do not need any help in this section.

That's the end of 1st day and he seems truely enjoying it! :)

Party - Ian's 5yo Party

Finally Ian has a birthday party! :)

It's at White Water condo - his God Ma Place. She booked a BBQ pit just besides the swimming pool!
The kids immediately cheong into the pool and played in the water for a good 2hrs!

Then we had our cake cutting then the kids went to play at the playground.

All these happened while the mummies chit chat/eat and drink to our heart content! :)

Ian was super happy as this is his 1st bday party and he received tons of presents! :) Happy Birthday Ian! :)

Party - Phoebe's 5yo Birthday

Phoebe's birthday party at One Amber. We were running slightly late as Zayden was sleeping. Luckily we make it in time. Reach just in time before the magician starts.

The magician was great... make all the kids/adults laughed really out loud. Then the stubborn pinata was also a funny sight.. which took a adult in the end to settle it! Finally it was cake cutting then balloon sculpturing.

Great cosy party that everyone enjoyed! :)

Trial @ Ykidz Monetssori

Was looking around for a playgroup for Zayden and particularly looking at a Montessori based playgroup.
My 1st choice was actually at NEX.. however due to logistic issues, decided to go for http://ykidz.edu.sg/v1/

Glad that they offer Free Trial thus I brought Zavier for a try. Not so much to see if he adapts (as I am sure for a 1st time, he sure would be busy exploring), but more for me to check out the place and teachers.

I would say the main teacher is good. She is patient and assertive. Not affected by the crying kids and instead she would delegate to the asst tr and even teach her how to pacify the kid. Of cos when more kids are fussing, she would also step in to pacify the kids. The whole team seems very cohesive. The admin gal/cleaning auntie and Principal all would come in and help out as and when they available.

The class setup was ok.. good and clean environment. Only hope the kids does settle down asap including my boy. :)

Party - Emerson's 5yo Birthday

Emerson has a staycation at RWS thus we had a small party at HRH beach pool. I went alone with Zayden and Helper. Zavier stayed at home as he did not behaved at all. He accepted his punishment quite well... maybe he thought he would be happier at home! :(

Anyway, Zayden totally enjoyed himself.. he sat at the beach pool first then he even tried to venture deeper into the pool himself! :) As it was too crowded at the HR pool, we changed over to the Festive Hotel Pool and it was a good choice. We found a cabana and settled down nicely.

The cake was a dino theme and it was a great cake! Everyone enjoyed themselves very much! :)

Brillionaire Kids - Donuts making

Brillionaire kids - Shared the baking package with a group of mummies and managed to get the classes at a cheaper price! :) While we shared the package, we also organised a class together, thus this is our first class- donut making session.

1st we met up with the 1st classes mummies for lunch at NEX... then we went for the class with Jin/Constance/Serene/Janice and Mei.

The class is small and simple setup. One teacher with 2 asst trs and 8kids. This is a pure hands on sessions... need to mix all the raw ingredients and use the primitive way to make the dough and mould to a donut shape.

The teacher will assist in frying the donut. The kids had fun and greatly enjoyed the session. Thus we would organise more sessions! :)

After that we went to play at the water playground and both kids had a great time!

Party - Heidi's 5yo party

Invited to Heidi's 5yo party at Jurong Safra Kids Amaze!

It was a big place... the kids had fun playing in the maze and totally forgot about parents! ;p
Even Zayden had fun at the maze... but of cos with his maid (helper and me took turns!) haha
Zavier naturally had no issues with the high maze. However he was not very familiar with the bday party kids thus he was actually abit bored... Guess at this age, he needs his frens around to truely enjoy himself!

Nevertheless, Great party and Happy birthday to Heidi! :)

Forest Adventure @ Parkway Centre

Heard about this mini course by Forest Adventure. First it was at Simei, then I missed it... After that it went to parkway centre and today it's the last day! Thus we cheong down to parkway for lunch and to let Zavier had a go at this mini course!

I was still afraid that Zavier might be afraid and wont complete the course but I was totally wrong! He breeze thru the course and was 101% confident about it the whole time!

It was a simple gallery and a few kids craft setup. The highlights was a porche ride/trishaw ride and a auto bicycle ride! ;p

We also had a go at a simple scouts setup that Zavier had fun climbing. Thus I recalled that there is a mini setup at Parkway and we cheong down. :)

Busy Day - Elmo for Zayden and RC nite for Zavier!

It's a charity day in office thus I bought a Elmo balloon toy for Zayden.

Also we had a big scale RC event tonite, with balloonist and entertainment. Naturally the boys had a great time dancing to the entertainers and playing whole nite. Both boys were the only 2 kids dancing infront of the stage! :p

Both teachers gave the usual similar comments.
He knows his work, fast learner, willing to help... great improvement from last year in terms of attitude but can still make improvements.

I know Zavier's biggest problem is always his attitude. He being rude and uncooperative, not willing to listen to instructions etc. This is really my biggest problem and I really dont know how to work on it!
Let's hope it will get better... Jia you Zavier!

We missed the 1st day of the workshop due to our last min extension to Malacca :p

This is a 5-7year old group. This means it's a little more serious, with bigger roles and more lines to rem. Nevertheless, Zavier caught up with the pace very soon and played with the frens in the class very soon too.

He is always looking forward to ACT3 :)

Heard about this place that does great Creative Writing classes. Saw that there was a July holiday Program thus enrolled Zavier with Phoebe. It was a 3hrs program from 10-12noon and it even extended... thus the kids were famished when they came out!

They each came out with their own book... For Zavier's book... His speech bubble in all the pages were the same! faintz! hahaha... Anyway he says he enjoyed it. Teacher's feedback that he has lots to talk about but no confidence in putting the ideas down on paper. Overtime should of cos encourage and provide more avenues for him to develop this aspect.

PS: Not sure if this program is really good or not. However was abit taken aback when the teacher talked to us in Singlish. Hmmm.. makes me wonder how she communicate in class with the kids.

Rise and Shine, we went for the buffet breakfast and it was great! We ate a good 2hrs before we move on to the pool... a smaller scale infinity pool. As usual, once the kids touch water, we had a hard time peeling them off... thus we swam till near noon then wash up and check out of the hotel.

We went to Jusco Bandaraya Malacca , supposedly one of the biggest Jusco. Indeed it was big and nice but we din have much time to shop. Thus just our lunch, rest awhile and we set off our drive back to JB.

We reached JB just nice during Dinner time and went to a Zi Char place to eat. After that we set off back to Singapore!

Indeed it was a great eating/bonding/relax trip with friends. Everyone had a great time eating and chitchatting. Hope we would have another trip like tat again soon. :)

We woke up for our breakfast then zoom off to the pool again. Again the kids played at the pool for a good 2hrs before they are up. Today 3 families are setting off to Malacca while another 2 families are going back to Singapore. Thus after our lunch, we bid farewell to them and we zoom off thru the highway to Malacca.

We actually managed to reach Malacca after a mere 3hrs drive... arrived at Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts MELAKA Hotel. We managed to book the kids suite and it was proven to be a great choice! A separate little room with a double decker bed for the kids. Zavier was thrilled!

We rested for awhile before setting off at 5pm to Jonker Street. Dinner was at Teo Soon Loong Chan. A very famous Teochew place in Malacca and you actually need to make reservation before coming. The Famous Oyster noodles was really GREAT and other dishes like their steamed fish etc. Honestly I didnt had enough to eat that night! haha

After the great meal, we strolled down the busy jonker street and finally walked back to our hotel to rest.

Overseas Hols Jun2011 - Day 1 Johor Bahru, Malaysia

We planned a road trip to Malaysia with a few frens.. to be exact, it's 5cars, 5 families, 12adults and 13kids! Sound massive? It's our 1st group trip cum road trip thus we planned for somewhere nearby and safe... Johor Barhu! haha :p

We met at 6am in Woodlands then drive thru the Woodlands checkpoint together. (We heard recently had massive jams thus set off early). We were lucky and actually breeze thru the custom! Thus we went for breakfast in JB. After the great meal, we actually wanted to go somewhere to shop around first but it was soooo early that non of the shops are open!

Thus we set off to our hotel instead - Pulai Springs Resort
We booked 2 3-bedded suites and 3/2 families shared. It was really great! Like a full scale condo with living room/kitchen etc. Naturally the kids were stunned at the "hotel" and enjoyed staying together with their friends.

1st stop was naturally to the hotel pool... it was big and there was a kiddy slide too. All the kids had fun in the pool for a good 3hrs before we managed to grab them up. After washing up, we were ready to set off for our dinner!

Dinner was at Ben's relative stall near to Danga Bay. BBQ Seafood with satay and dessert! Yummy indeed! After that we went to the Danga World - The theme park. It was cheap and fun for the kids. They played almost all the rides and finally we set off back to the hotel to rest.

Lion King the musical

WOW!! Finally I am coming for the musical! I was tempted to buy the tickets many times but the price really puts me off! Luckily, my company decide to have a family event for staff with this!!! Hooray!

The show was interesting with all the animals being portray. Zavier was all eyes glue to it. However guess it was abit long thus he was lethargic at the end. Another stroke of luck was we were chosen to go for a backstage tour at the end of the show!

Zavier had a chance to stand on the stage and look down, also saw how the props etc were kept or push out during the transition. It was a eye opening tour. :)

It's school holidays and it means Shopping malls usually have FOC shows. I remembered when Zavier was 1-2yo, we practically cheong to all the malls to catch them... however, now really needs to be selective!

Of cos the one that we cannot miss is ELMO! Zayden's fav character! Thus we trotted down to city sq mall just to catch them.. it was really a case of watch and go. Zayden kept saying "Elmo... There... Elmo where..." :)

Hmm.. This book is thick!!! I havent finished reading the book with him but he knows that we are in the midst of it. Thus he was excited about it. But the play was catered to older kids... thus the dialogue is faster with more rhythms and metaphors etc. Thus tough for him to catch them. Nevertheless guess he watched it like a cartoon - without the need to listen to the conversation! :p

RSAF Open House 2011

We were planning to go together on a weekend but since we found someone tat can goes in on a friday (read less crowd, less q...) why not right! :p Wanted to take leave but office is really overwhlemed thus only Daryl and Zavier went. Zayden - next time we sure to bring you ok! :)

Daryl and Zavier met up with Emerson and his daddy. Tis Zavier, immediately stick to Emerson's Daddy and dump his own! Faint. Apparently the 2 boys were playing so rough that they had to split and only met up again at the end. Well, hope the boys had great fun and bonding together. :)

I know, I know... it's bad of me not to let Zayden sits in a car seat! But if I put the car seat in... it's really quite a squeeze behind. And since Zayden doesn't do any spiderman acts in car, I allow him to sit on helper's leg during journey.

I am away for biz trip today thus DT is bringing Zayden to his class by himself. Without a adult in the car, naturally we need to bring out the car seat... and voila! He loves it! :)

Heard of this place from Elin... Thus took this chance to bring the kids for some foam party fun!
Zavier was afraid of the deep pool and had some fun with the foam pool. However he actually prefer to go the beach and plays with the waves.

Zayden - prefer the deep pool with his papa. He was curious with the foam but we were worried that he would eats them. He was abit skeptical with the beach and waves. :)

We would be back again... with frens preferably next time! :)

Party - Reece's 5yo Party

Zavier's 1st party with his CC's fren. He is a Austrlian-Taiwan Boy. They stayed in a old condo with a simple poole. Zavier cant swim thus he stayed on the "boat" throughout the whole time while his frens swam freely...

Zayden stayed at the baby pool tat is just nice for him.

The host also prepared some water bomb and water host and the kids had a water battle.

Thereafter it's snacks and cake time. Great party and we had a great catch up time with other Pat's parents.

Singapore Biennale 2011 Open House

Knew about this event for sometime but always forgot to go. Finally we make a trip down today - Singapore Biennale 2011 Open House at the Kallang Old Airport.

We were one of the early birds.. read that the theme is orange, we also purposely dress the kids up in orange. The Flea market was kinda of pathetic I would say.. thus we went straight to the Main Gallery. Walked thru the whole building looking at some artsy exhibits... Adults probably not "artsy' enough but the kids definately has more imagination! :p We also went up to the old tower to have a look at the view.

Then we went to the crafts area. Zav did kite & barn while Zay played with the bubbles. After that both kids played kite flying... great wind thus no issues at all. After awhile, I brought Zayden to hide from the hot sun in the west wing... looking at the art pcs done by the kids. Zavier also came in and had a go at the giant jigsaw puzzle.

After that we went to Marina Square for Aircon! haha

Also he recently went to cut his hair! I simply love boys with botak! hahaha

Kampong Buangkok

Ok, let me admit first that I was "con" to go to Kampong Buangkok - the last Kampong in Singapore. Luckily I did reserve the whole day for this trip~ hahaha

Well it started with me asking Daryl to plan Good Friday's program! And he said why not we go to the kampung! Ok, since I asked him to plan, I shall not comment too much about it.. and I also personally never do much research about this place.

Thus we set off after the kids took their nap and lunch. Easily found the place... but we were not impressed at all! We took a slow stroll around the place and all in all, finished the whole place in 10mins! hahahaha

Luckly, after that my frens impromptu organised a Easter get together.. thus we hang ard in north east before heading to my frens plc! :).

Theme: Frog's life cycle

Teacher Maria went thru different frogs with the kids. Highlighted that frogs are not only green... there are other colour frogs and some are poisonous/some are not. The kids then decided their own frogs.. Zavier wants to have a poisonous frog!

Then went on to create the pond... they blew bubbles in the colour paints then quickly uses the paper to capture the bubbles on paper. The kids enjoyed the activity very much. Then they drew the frog eggs on the pond. After that they drew tadpoles... and water lily pads. Followed by doing their frog using a old tissue box. Teacher especially focus on tell them wat is "symmetry"... the frog's legs would need to be symmetric. Lastly they did their water lily.

Gatecrash to Resorts World Sentosa

Gina had a room at Festive Hotel.. thus Elin and I decided to gatecrash them! (Thanks Gina! :)) Thus after Zav's class, we went to Resorts World Sentosa. We went straight to Hard Rock Hotel's pool as we heard that it's a unique beach pool.

Wow! Proof to be a great choice.. the kids enjoyed the beach pool totally. The depth is just nice and comfy for them to DIY inside the pool.. playing water gun or just waddling. Even Zayden had fun! Unfortunately, after 1hr, the sky suddenly turned dark and even started to hv lighting and thunder. Thus we had no choice but to wash up and leave. :(

We went to the Hotel room for a short while to see/look. The boys had a great time going up/down the loft bed! :p After that we went to find dinner. Hard Rock Cafe needs to wait for 1hr, thus we settled for the buffet at Starz Cafe in Hard Rock Hotel.

Overseas Hols Mar2011 - Day 5 Hong Kong

Last day... we decide to go separate ways today with Constance as we are going for the Ngong Ping 360 whereas they had just went there 2yrs ago.

Since it's a more relax day... we woke up later and slowly pack up and checked out. Left the baggage in the concierge then we setoff. We took the crystal cabin up the mountain and reach the village at ard 11am. It started drizzling thus we decided to go for early lunch to beat the crowd too. Great lunch... with all the energy, Zavier and I went up 250 steps to the top and see the Buddha up close and personal. After that we slowly stroll back to the cable car station and it started to rain... quite lucky as we were already heading back.

Then we went back hotel to pick our luggage and set off to the airport. Checked in all done and we started looking ard for FOOD! Remembered that my fren mentioned we could tabao roost goose back home and we went in search for it! So we also ate our early dinner of roost goose and our dessert before going into the custom area.

The flight back was not gd.. Zayden slept from 4pm to 6pm... thus means he was wide awake during the flight! Then he refused to sit down and kept asking us to "go" and "let's go"... but we had no where to go! hahaha.. Zavier watched his inflight tv then fell asleep after that!

Finally at 1am.. we were Home Sweet HOME! :)

Overseas Hols Mar2011 - Day 4 Hong Kong

Rise and Shine... we NEED to wake up at 7am today! :p Becos we have a date with Mickey/Goofy/Pluto/Daisy for breakfast! We went to the buffet place at 730am and it was already half filled... we quickly took food for the kids and ourselves.. We know very well, once the characters comes out, they would not have the mood to eat! :p Very soon, the characters came out and mingle with the guests. They went table by table to take pics etc. Naturally we cam whore the whole morning with them! :)

After the buffet, we went to the kids club room for the kids to play and went to the Mickey Maze too. After everyone settle down.. we finally ready to set off at 10am to the Disneyland Park again! This time we went to Adventure Land first, followed by Fantasy Land and lastly Tomorrow Land. The kids and dads cheong for all the rides again and again and again while mummies cheong shopping! We indeed had a great time and were all taking a few bags of shopping! :)

Looking at our loot, the daddies decided to go back hotel room to call for room services as dinner and let the kids rest early too. :)

We planned to have a good Tim Sum Breakfast today.. However, we din really know where to go. The nearby mall's restaurant only opens at 10am?? Thus we settled for our hotel own in house restaurant. Sad to say, the selection and food also not great! :(

After breakfast, we took a stroll to "Goldfish street" aka "pets street" in Mongkok. The kids had fun looking at the fishes/tortoise/bunnies etc. At about 11am, we headed back to hotel to check out. We were going to check in to Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel! :)

Took a cab and headed to Disneyland hotel. We checked in first, deposited our bags and headed straight to Disneyland!! The kids were all hyper at the mention of Disneyland!

Our 1st stop in Disneyland - to queue up to take pics with Mickey & Minnie Mouse! We queued for almost 2hrs! After the photo taking, we went straight to book our spot for the parade! We bought Mickey pancakes for the kids to eat as lunch/tea... The parade was great.. everyone enjoyed very much. After that we went to Tomorrow land. The kids all cheong for the rides... my silly scary cat boy boosted his courage by his frens.. sat all the rides including SPACE MOUNTAIN! :p

They sat ALL the rides in Tomorrow land then we proceeded to Fantasy land. Only managed to take 2rides and we rushed to the castle to view Tinkerbell light up at the castle then followed by the fireworks. We also bought pizza to eat as snacks while waiting.

After all the magical events, we headed to Citygate via MTR. We settled at The Spaghetti House. It was yummy and we were all thinking why this food chain didn't come to Singapore! :p After dinner, we headed back to hotel and knock out ...again...

Day 2 - plan was to go Ocean Park! Guess we were all very tired and actually slept soundly all the way to 830am when Constance called and asked what time going for breakfast! :p Quickly woke the kids, washed up etc and met them at 845am! :p

Walked down to Mongkok area to search for a 茶餐厅 for our breakfast. Those who visited Hong Kong would know their great breakfast menu with "Set A/Set B" etc We all ordered different sets to eat to our filled! Especially nice was the 菠萝包! Yummy!

After our meal, we set off via MTR to the bus station that has shuttle bus to Ocean park. Reached there around 10am+... We were abit lost once in.. the program sheet was in a mess and we din know where to go and what to do. Finally we decide to cover the "top" first then comes back down. Thus we took the long cable car ride to the top... At the top, we saw all the thrill rides but no one dare to sit! :p so took the kiddy rides, ate our lunch, saw a few shows etc.

Suddenly the temperature turn cold and towards late afternoon, we were all feeling cold! We wanted to finished the last show before going off, thus let the kids played at the playground and they had more kiddy rides while adults were shivering with cold! haha.. Finally we couldn't take it... and left slightly earlier at 8pm.

Headed straight back to Mongkok and grab our dinner. The usual fare... and we went on to shop ard ladies street/shops around Mongkok. Reached back hotel at 11pm and we were all tired and knock out straight away!

Arranged for a Trip to Hong Kong with Constance's family. My view is that it would be great fun for us to travel as a group.. kids company for Zavier and more mouths to eat great food! hahaha

Finally the day is here... we booked our taxi at 7am and both kids were more than happy to wake up at 6am to wash up! Reach the airport at 8am, checked in fairly quickly. Once in the departure area, we went to the "butterfly garden"... and it was really an eye opener! We were up close and personal to the butterflies.. can touch them.. they would land softly on ur hand/head etc. Both kids were awe by it! :p Then we also went to the playground briefly... before heading to our gate.

Great new plane we had and great seats to be on the 1st row.. all thanks to Zayden. Zavier immediately hooked himself on the inflight entertainment.. eating his kids meal and watching cartoon! Zayden.. took a short nap then played ard in his bassinet while we ate.

Soon, we reached Hong Kong! The kids were excited... holding hands and running once we exit from the custom area! We hopped onto a Taxi and went straight to our hotel - Royal Plaza Hong Kong Hotel. We are going to stay in this hotel for 2 nites (HKD1250 per nite for family room). Checked in was abit delayed.. thus we stayed in the lobby area to wait. Finally we got our rooms at 330pm. The rooms were big and spacious. 1 King bed + 1 Queen bed. But the location is not as idea as it's about 15mins walk from Mongkok MTR.

At 4pm, we took the hotel shuttle bus to Tsimshatsui. We chose "大家乐" at 海港城. Their famous fast food outlet. Grab our early lunch cum dinner. After that I had my 1st cup of 許留山! :) We took a short stroll around star ferry terminal then proceed on to take a ferry over to Central side. The kids were thrill to be on the ferry.. all are not scared and stood by the side of the ferry.

Reached Central Terminal within a short time. Walked around the ferry terminal and thinking where shall we go. We saw The Peak buses were just in front of the terminal and the timing seems right to go there. Thus we change our plans and went for it!

The open top bus is another attractions for the kids. Lucky tonite's temperature were consider warm, thus all the kids had great fun on the open top bus... reach the The Peak Tram Terminal and the 3 transport we took is the Tram up to The Peak. Very steep slope... and finally we reached. We went straight to the open area to view the beautiful night scenery. While the adults enjoy the scenery, the kids end up playing catching! After a while we went to the playground within the area and they had another round of play. Constance and I took this chance to hv a short shop too. :)

Finally, time to go... took the tram back down and walked to the last transport today - that is the MTR. We were abit blur and took the long way back to the hotel... we even changed to a RAILWAY! Really a "transportation" day! :)

Reached hotel, washed up and the kids very knocked out very soon! Then Daryl and I took a sneak out to the Mongkok area for supper! I satisfy my wants for roasted pigeons! Hehe! :)

PS: oh, our original plan was to go for a seafood dinner that needs a 1hr ferry ride, then come back to walked along TST harbour etc. Or Plan B was simple dinner then shop ard TST... but end up we had our Plan C - that's the Peak! :)

Circo Fokus Bokus is an original piece of Theatre that uses black light and puppetry with wondrous effect. Brimming with ingenuity and fantasy, it brings to light the wonder of childhood, innocence and play.

SYNOPSIS
A group of five characters arrives at a circus only to find that there are no clowns to kick off the show. Slowly but surely, they begin to perform number after number: two contortionist dancers, a Chinese juggler, three rock and rolling cats on stilts, Russian dancers, a lion tamer, acrobats and even an invisible magician.
MUSIC

Circo Fokus Bokus also features an extraordinary selection of eclectic, jazz, rock and roll, electronic music, African percussion and classical pieces to set the pace, enhance the atmosphere and echo the emotions of the characters.

So glad to meet Frances and family at the show. We sat with them and the gals were definitely very sociable! :) Zav enjoyed the show and able to figure out what they are trying to portray most of the time pretty fast.

Good production. Very different from baby prom... guess more for older kids.

Zavier saw afew of his classmates from PATS too. He was delighted to see them for sure. :)

Theme: Tree

It's on a canvas this time. Teacher Maria 1st highlight to the kids of how "real" tree looks like. Have pockets of holes and not a "ballon tree". And also highlighted that the bark is not a single colour.. but shades of many browns...Then they started to draw their tree on the canvas then proceeded to colour them in shades of "greens" and "browns" and "blues".

Really loves the end results!! Bravo! :)

Sunday with Us - Interative Language Children's Workshop

Hop on the bandwagon with Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit in this language adventure that will focus on developing your children's vocabulary, speech and word recognition.

Using various poems, they will be guided to recite rhythmic verses fluently with emphasis on syllables and consonants; practise rhymes and play with sounds to boost clarity in oral communication; read sight words and pick up new words through fun and exciting word games, tongue twisters and storytelling.

Always enjoyed such "language" based workshop! Not only fun.. it helps to enhance the kids listening/phonics skills! :) Hope more to come! :)

Uncle Ringo Funfair @ Sengkang

Uncle Ringo FUNFAIR!!! like our old days with the Bumper Cars / techno music etc! Too bad do not have "Top Gun" this time! :) I saw a Great deal online and grab it.. thus Zavier had 30tokens to use at the FunFair!

Due to rain/CNY/falling sick etc... we delayed until the LAST day of the funfair!
Zavier was skepical at first, only going for those simple games like 'train/car/boat' ride. I forgot that I could sit with didi in some of them.. thus only Zavier sat and Zayden look on. Thus Zayden only sat on the Merry Go Round and he was ok.. at least din brawl! hahaha

After a few rides, Zavier got more daring and went for the racing car/the tall bouncy castle and finally the water ball! He had soooo much fun that we only left the place at 1030pm!

Zavier loves to draws/creates.... he had been giving me surprises every now and then.

Like last xmas, he was asking for a NERF gun. of cos I wont get it for him... thus he DIY one himself! (even made one for Zayden! haha) This morn, he saw Dragon Dance... after dinner, he made his own too and started playing with Zayden... asking him to be the Lion and he be the Dragon and dances together!

His bedroom's wall is also filled with his own drawings and painting... and 温馨 part is he would always draw another pc and says it's for Zayden!! (too late to take a pic of his wall now.. ;p)

2011 大年初四 - 开工大吉！

DT's boss arranged for Lion Dance at his home and claimed that it's a good time/day to start work! Thus early morn 9am, we went down to his place to HUAT ah!!!

As the Lion Dance was in his home... it was really up close and personal and both boys enjoyed it greatly! After that we heard the shophouse opp his place also having Lion Dance thus brought both kids over to watch and it was both Dragon Dance and Lion Dance! Great!! :)

After DT started work with his boss, we went to Vivo for a quick lunch.

We thought of going for the Sentosa Flower Festival 2011, but it's $30++ per pax! Forget it... thus we simply walked the Sentosa Broadwalk to RWS to see the RWS- The Fortune Rabbit and enjoyed the little flowers and decor along the way. :)

PS: Sticky Zayden was like a koyok! Refused to be let down and walked himself... has to carry him thru out and both my and helper's arms are aching! ARGH! ;p

Actually no more visits to go and everything back to normal. Zayden's still on/off having low grade fever, thus alot of plan places we din have a chance to go as wanted him to rest more.

Thus today, I only brought Zav for his usual lesson at JG and even went for a assessment at ICR since don't have any swim class! Maybe needs to do some re scheduling of his timetable if want to fits this in. I am also in dilemma if I want to start ICR or Montessori Phonics instead! hmmm... think think about it...

Anyway, today I had craving for 盆菜. Feels weird if this year we didn't eat it as last 3 yrs we had it. Thus last min, I managed to order one from Taste. Conclusion is "NOT GOOD"... still Man Fu Yuan at InterContinental is better! :p

This year no lunch at 舅舅place as cousin's wife is doing confinement at home! Thus we ate simple lunch at home then went to visit my 舅舅and 舅母.

After that we went for our usual routine of temple hopping - from bugis to our home burmese temple.

Let the kids nap first again before we head out to DT's relatives place.

As usual, Reunion lunch at my mom's place. This year, we simply sleep till shiok shiok then wake up and get ready to eat! wahahaah...

Zayden started feverish last nite, thus after our reunion lunch, I chased both boys for their nap instead of heading out to next visit... ended up they nap till 5pm+! Then we changed and went to DT's relatives plc. Most of them already left when we reach.. :p

But good thing is it's less crowded and Zayden warmed up very quickly and started roaming about. :)

2011 CNY Eve

After Zav's CC celebration, we went back and changed to our 1st set of new clothes... it's casual tee and shorts.

We went to visit my Granny - The kids' Lao Ma with my mom/Agnes/Richard. Zavier is big boy already, was all comfy in lao ma's plc even tho we goes there only once a year. Zayden was abit comprehensive at first, but very soon warm up.. and started walking ard too.

After a short visit, we went to CCK SIL's plc for our steamboat reunion dinner. The spread was great... with 2 pots too... one tomyam and one normal chicken soup. YUMMY!!

We also went to the Sembawang God of Fortune Temple to pray before heading home. It was a grand event at the temple. Hope we HUAT in 2011! :)

CC CNY 2011 Celebrations

Zavier's CC arranged for a mini concert by the kids followed by steamboat on 初夕. Parents were of course invited. As this time, the CC only arranged for K1/K2 classes and parents on a day (the younger age group had theirs on Tues), thus it was a much better crowd this time. Wanted to bring Zayden along but he fell asleep just 10mins before we want to go out! :(

The K1 class performed 2 items and both were very well done. Finally I see my boy really seriously doing it and not playing a fool like last year! This time, I also managed to talk to more parents, and of cos chat with the teachers and principal. Am really glad to hear good comments from them all! Hope my boy would continue to strive to be in his best behaviour and well liked by all! :)

We managed to eat the steamboat and some other goodies and stayed for a good 2hrs before heading home. We all enjoyed ourselves very much! :)

1st Lion Dance for CNY 2011

Rain rain rain.. until all my programs all went haywire. Luckily today still managed to catch the last Lion Dance performance in Compass point.

Zavier of cos enjoyed it. But he was abit scared when the lion came near! faintz.
Zayden was not afraid at all, not by the crowd, not my the loud drums etc... eyes were glued to the performance thru out! Both kids enjoyed it and even helper also enjoyed it. :)

So now it's the start of Zavier's Dong Chiang act again! :p

A Rainy Day...

We arranged to go temple today to pay our respect to MIL for CNY. It was a super rainy day... thus I prepared Zav's raincoat.

I allowed Zavier to walk in the rain with his raincoat on. Think it would be fun for him and also a rare chance! :p Zavier had fun walking in the rain! Zayden was wailing away wanted to join him but of cos, no raincoat for Zayden thus cant go out. :)

After asking MIL 2 times if she is done, it was still answer as NO. Thus I got Zavier to kneel down and ask loudly if MIL finished eating and also said some CNY greetings out loud. And finally it was a YES. Thus we pack up and went to SIL plc to eat and rest. :)

Sentosa Boardwalk Opening Celebration

Come end January 2011, getting to Sentosa will be a walk in the park, literally. The Sentosa Boardwalk, featuring canopy-covered travellators, F&B and retail will let you take leisurely strolls to Sentosa, Asia’s Favourite Playground! Join us for an evening of fun on Saturday, 29 January 2011 as we mark the opening of the Sentosa Boardwalk with a special parade, pyrotechnics, lots of activities and giveaways.

Think everyone should know me by now that I would cheong for such events! :p And yes, that day after dinner, we brave the rain and went to vivo!! It was still raining and it rained even bigger after we reach!Luckily the Broadwalk is shelter thus we are able to walk slowly.

We managed to catch the opening fireworks. A short one and nothing fantastic. Then we U turn at the mid point of the broadwalk. They have face painting/balloons and even some animals on display like parrots/white snake and a Iguana.

Still a wonderful event but of cos if it din rained, it would be better! :)

SCO Outdoor Rhapsody @ BG

Free and family-friendly as ever, the Singapore Chinese Orchestra Outdoor Rhapsody, one of the most popular outdoor concerts in town, returns with wonderful feats of live music in the park. Relax, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy awesome performances by SCO!

Always love to bring the kids to some outdoor programs. Since SCO going to have a concert at Botanical Gardens, decide to arrange a picnic there.

At 1st 3 other families wanted to come together However last min all couldnt come. Lucky just 2days before, my SIL said that she misses the boys. Thus I asked SIL and family to come for this too. End up become a family affair!

We prepared 2 mats, packet drinks, pizza and volia! Our 1st picnic! Zavier had great fun... eating his fav pizza and running ard the big open space like a monkey! Zayden warm up after a while and also wanted to walk around instead of staying on the mat. he went round charming other pple ard us! :p The 2 guys were busy taking pics.. from their SLR! of cos BIL's camera win hands down! Great.. now have 2 cameras to take my boys! :p

After the concert ends, we pack up and bid farewell to them. Great time and we should do this more often. :)
