Zavier New Enrichment - Art Class

Joined another mummy in a home based art class.  It's a class of 3kids, and the teacher is indeed very patient and can see she really love to teach art to kids.  Her class is based on a project/theme and I feel it's like a mini General Knowledge class too :p

Theme - Rainforest.

1st class
Teacher first explained what is rainforest to the kids.. and animals that live in the rainforest... lots of books/materials were being shown to the kids so that they can visualise them.
Then teacher pointed out a few animals like Tiger, Jaguars and Leopards etc.  Kids were being taught to shade a spot for a Jaguars or draw stripes for a Tiger - Pencil work.
Using cardboards, teacher cut out the shape of the tree trunk and ask the kids to paint.  She would bring in real tree bark to show the kids... using paints/crayons and even fork etc to create the look/feel of the trunk.
She also touched on human destorying the rainforest like setting it on fire etc.  Thus all the kids started painting the trunk in RED! :p

2nd class
Teacher cut out the pencilwork done by the kids during 1st class and paste it on cardboard.  Then ask the kids to colour the animals accordingly.  More pencilwork and also mixing of paints to create the colours that they want.  Touch on animals natural habitat is rainforest etc.

3rd class
On the other side of the cardboard, would be the leaves.  Touched on different shades of Green.  Show the kids to look out of the window to see the real trees... diff shades of green or even brown etc.

At the end - A tree with "animals" hiding within the tree... like in a rainforest. :)

Zayden - 7th week old

Zayden is coming to 2mths soon.  He is finally cleared of his Rashes!!! Phew....
He bascially is a good baby.. sleeps well, drinks well at home.  While outside, he would be a KPO baby.. refused to sleep, even drinks also like taking desert only.. 3-5mins latch and can last him for 3hrs!  Of cos I am afraid that he would not drink enough.. thus in a way, I am reluntant to bring him go gai gai often until he improves on this. (also becos I would be having engorged breast in this case! :p)

Btw today Zayden went to TMC with me for checkup.  Thus took the chance to measure him.
Weight: 5665gms
Lenght: 58cm
Great growth Zayden! :)

Pics time! :)

Zayden's bathing...

Zavier Gor Gor also have a post on Papa bathing him... thus this is Zayden's Version

ROOM ON THE BROOM by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler

ABA Productions & Tall Stories Theatre Company (UK) proudly present the modern classic, direct from its UK and US tour

ROOM ON THE BROOM By Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler

How the cat purred and how the witch grinned,  As they sat on their broomstick and flew through the wind…
The witch and her cat are flying happily on their broomstick – until a stormy wind blows away the witch’s hat, bow and wand. A helpful dog, bird and frog find the witch’s lost things, and they all hop on the broom for a ride. But this broomstick’s not meant for five and – CRACK – the broom snaps in two! When a hungry dragon appears, who will save the poor witch? And will there ever be room on the broom for everyone?

Let your imagination run wild with songs, laughs and lots of fun for everyone aged 1 to 101 from Tall Stories, the company that brought The Gruffalo to the stage. Ideally suitable for ages three and up.

Another Great show.. I personally enjoyed it very much. Zavier seems attracted to the show too. :) Lucky we still came despite his swollen eye. :p
