DUCK and DIVE! - The Ugly Duckling & The Frog Prince

An Ugly Duckling who REALLY does not fit in at home…
A Frog who thinks he is a Prince…
Both need a family
Both need a best friend
Both want to be loved…
But both are very, very alone.

Follow the adventures and misadventures of these two cute, but confused creatures in their quest for acceptance and security, as we cleverly intertwine two classic fairy tales: Hans Christian Andersen’s The Ugly Duckling and The Grimm Brothers’ The Frog Prince.

A beautiful, poignant, hilarious and wonderfully silly tale of two creatures stumbling through situations every teen or parent might find themselves in, with fun and laughter that the little ones can join in safely and wholeheartedly.

A marvellous musical for the whole family to enjoy, in the best Broadway and West End tradition, with colourful costumes, wonderful sets, toe-tapping tunes.

Swimmy, Frederick & Inch by Inch by Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia, Canada

From the performing company that brought you ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar & other Eric Carle Favourites’, Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia returns with Leo Lionni’s exquisite collage of picture books! The three Caldecott Honor books, SWIMMY, FREDERICK & INCH BY INCH, are among Lionni’s most beloved works. Their images are strikingly beautiful, and their texts are whimsical yet wistful.

Swimmy is a tiny insignificant fish in the vast ocean who uses ingenuity to fend off danger. Frederick, a mouse who is a poet from the tip of his nose to the end of his tail, makes everyday life an artful experience. The story of Inch by Inch features a lovable inchworm who is very proud of his facility for measuring absolutely everything, including a robin’s tail, a flamingo’s necks, a toucan’s beak, a heron’s leg and a nightingale’s song.

Another enjoyable show. Zavier was familiar with the stories thus kept asking me when is xxx coming or yyy coming etc. And of cos he enjoyed the company of his little friends as well.

After the show, we went to Funan for lunch with the rest. :)

CM Zoo trip 2009

Today is Zavier's Sch excursion to the Zoo.  I went to his sch early 8am as DT supposed to go to work.  we stayed in sch, chit chat with his teachers while waiting for other kids/parents to arrive.  Can see who are Zavier's closer friends are from that short timing... he wld auto go find those few frens or his frens would also auto call him once they arrived and they would play around their classroom.

We set off on the sch bus ard 9+.  At this time, suddenly DT SMS and said that he took urgent leave and would meet me at the Zoo! hehehe...

The sch bus reached Zoo and all the kids were excitied running ard the area once alight from the bus.  The Zoo staff led us into a room and we were being introduced to some small animals.  Up close and personal with these small tame animals. Zavier would request to touch/sayang the small animals. :)

After that we collected our KFC and went to watch the splash show.  We ate and watch at the same time.  After the show, it's free and easy till 1215pm.  We walked with the rest of the laoshi to see Rhino, Lion, Cheetah, etc.  At a junction, we parted ways as the teachers are taking the sch bus back to sch while we continue to the kids playground.

This round, Zavier requested to sit on the horse.  Thus we bought the 3in1 package for him.  He bravely sat on the Horse, Merry go round and Horse Carriage. When we walked pass the Elephant ride area, Zavier also requested to sit on that! But Elephant ride abit too chiem for him to sit alone huh... so we didn't :p

We then walked to the hippo n tiger area then we headed to the exit.  It's too hot and tiring for us already. :)

2009 Family Day @ CC

This year Family Day theme is Cultural Day.  This year, both DT and I decided to go ahead with Zavier... thinking we should spend as much time wtih him as possible before Zayden arrive...

We reached there around 9+am.  First station was traditional games.  There was five stones, hopscotch etc.  Instead of playing five stones, Zavier only interested in counting them!  Then there were some simple games... yoyo, paper ball etc.

Next we went to Chinese station.  We first drew a tiger using the calligraphy brush.  Then we made some chinese dumplings.  Zavier enjoyed both activities very much.

Next were the Malay station.  We ate the lontong then weave a heart pocket.  Zavier had no patient for this at all... end up DT and me completed it. Faintz.

Last was the Indian station.  Zavier tried cooking the prata, then went to the henna station and requested for a butterfly pattern.

We were done ard 1130pm.  We bid goodbye to all the teachers and friends and went on our way.
Nice session to mix around with the teachers and Zavier's classmates and parents. :)

Sunday with us - It sounds like

Due to the last enjoyable session, I signed up Zavier for this without 2nd thought. :)  Quite lucky as Music class was cancelled last minute, thus I do not need to rush after this class. :)

We reached there just in time, thus brought him to the toilet then send him in the class.  He was abit hestiated at first, kept asking me to go in the class with him... I had to assured him that I would be outside. :p  Luckily, he joined in the fun class quickly.  From my peeps - he was dancing, jumping around with the teachers + other kids.  hehe  Very fast, 2hrs over and the kids came out.  The minute he came out, he immediately started rattling about the class.  The Gruffalo, the woods, the mouse and how he dance etc etc.

He went on and on in the car and even said " What a fun class.  I enjoyed it very much.  Thank you mummy".  Wow! kinda the 1st time I hear him thanking me for bringing him to anywhere! Hehehe...  Guess even DT saw the joy in him, and asked me how much is ACT3 per term! wahahaha :p
Think he is of a better age to appreaciate Speech & drama now?  Join a term?  We shall see about that again ok son... :)

My granny 87yrs old birthday...

It's my granny, Zavier's lao ma, birthday celebration tonite.  She is 87yrs old....

As usual Zavier was very excited about birthday.  He stood at the limelight position of next to granny and sang birthday songs very loudly.  Proudly gave Lao ma birthday kisses, hugs and even directed her to blow her candles and cut her cake. :p

I still remembered, Zavier used to be scared of lao ma when he was small.... glad that now he is not and although don't see her often, still ok with her. :)  Hope there would be many more birthday celebration to come. :)
